About Hark
Hark is a venture-backed startup redefining feedback for brands like Tommy John, Daily Harvest, Spanx & Gruns by creating the listening infrastructure sitting on top of your performance metrics — automatically capturing qualitative customer feedback at the exact behavioral moments that drive them. Every number finally has a customer explanation behind it, so you know exactly what to fix or double down on to improve performance.
The Mission
As an Account Executive at Hark, you will be a core driver of our revenue growth. Reporting to our Head of Sales, you will own the full sales cycle—from prospecting to close—selling a product that genuinely changes how brands understand their customers.
This is a consultative, strategic selling role. You won't be running a transactional process; you'll be guiding leaders in CX, Insights, Retention, and Lifecycle Marketing through a new way of thinking about customer feedback. The brands you work with will look to you as a trusted advisor who connects their pain points to a fundamentally better approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the Full Sales Cycle: Manage opportunities from initial outreach through close, including prospecting, discovery, demos, proposals, and negotiation.
- Consultative Selling: Lead strategic conversations with senior stakeholders—VP and C-level leaders in CX, Insights, Retention, and Marketing—to uncover business challenges and position Hark as the solution.
- Pipeline Generation: Build and manage a healthy pipeline through a mix of outbound prospecting, inbound follow-up, partnerships, and networking. You take ownership of your number.
- Nail the Narrative: Deeply understand the Hark story and articulate why the shift from surveys to multi-modal storytelling matters. Translate product capabilities into business outcomes that resonate with each buyer.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Share customer insights with Product and Marketing to sharpen our positioning and roadmap. Your voice from the field directly shapes where we go next.
- Represent Hark in the Market: Attend industry events and conferences, build relationships in the eCommerce and CX community, and grow Hark's brand awareness through your presence.
Who You Are
- A Consultative Seller: You don't pitch—you diagnose. You have experience running complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes and know how to build consensus across an organization.
- Startup-Tested: You've thrived in an early-stage or high-growth environment where process is still being built and you're comfortable with ambiguity. You've carried a quota and consistently hit or exceeded it.
- Curious and Strategic: You take the time to understand your buyer's world—their KPIs, their org dynamics, their challenges—and use that understanding to run a smarter deal.
- A Strong Communicator: Whether it's a cold outreach, a demo, or a negotiation, you communicate with clarity, confidence, and authenticity.
- Collaborative by Nature: You share what's working, flag what isn't, and contribute to a team culture built on trust and transparency.
- eCommerce or CX Experience a Plus: Familiarity with the eCommerce ecosystem, customer experience tools, or selling into Insights/CX/Retention teams is a strong advantage.
Why Hark?
- Early-Stage Impact: Join a high-growth company where your work directly moves the needle. You won't be account #47 on a massive team—you'll be a key part of the sales org.
- Strong Leadership: Report to an experienced Head of Sales who is invested in your development and building a world-class team.
- Equity Upside: Meaningful equity in a venture-backed company at an exciting stage of growth.
- Sell Something That Matters: Hark isn't an incremental improvement—it's a fundamentally new approach. You'll be selling a product that customers genuinely love.
- Competitive Compensation: $85K–$125K base salary + commission with on-target earnings of ~$200K, plus equity and health benefits.
