About the Role

As an Engineering Tech Lead at Hark, you will play a pivotal role in steering the technical direction of our product. Responsibilities
  • Own all engineering efforts across all offices including all disciplines and platforms.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous feedback and technical excellence.
  • Recruit, mentor, inspire and develop engineering teams in New York and distributed offices. Set goals and manage performance of the overall engineering team.
  • Exhibit systems thinking and the ability to future-proof upfront.
  • Embrace learning about new technologies while valuing the efficacy of existing tech.
  • Mentor and develop team members for success in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Evaluate and implement efficiency improvements. Build cost-of-service models to understand the financial cost of serving our customers, identify ways to drive efficiencies from our stack.
  • Demonstrate a modern software engineering mindset and utilize agile practices, including continuous integration and deployment.
  • Work cross-functionally with product and business teams to get products developed and shipped. Collaborate with product to decompose requirements into technical tasks.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with Python-based API platforms (Django, Flask) with PostgreSQL.
  • Expertise with data modeling and data architecture both from conceptual and practical perspectives.
  • Expertise with infrastructure components such as GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), CloudSQL, Cloud functions.
  • Working knowledge of modern front-end architectures (ReactJS, Typescript).
  • Working knowledge of prompt engineering techniques with LLMs.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with Google Cloud Platform, specifically.

Preferred Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with containerized deployment of application components (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with data pipelines and orchestration technologies (Dagster, Airflow).
  • Experience with DevSec / InfoSec policies and practices for cloud-based applications.
  • Experience working with application monitoring technologies (Datadog, NewRelic).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $164,000-$205,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
